October 25, 2008: Pumpkin Decorating Contest: The Farm's annual contest will be held this year on Saturday, Oct. 25. This year's contest will feature $300 for first prize, $250 for second and $200 for third. As always, prize money goes to schools chosen by the winners.
October 31, 2008: It's a Non-Scarey Halloween Festival! Come for a delightful evening at the Farm in costume — no masks, please — but painted faces will be delightful. We'll have the usual hayrides to the pumpkin patch, free 'Sugar Pie' pumpkin, visits to the Animal Barn, a ride on the Jupiter, Pedal Cars, Carousel, and, we'll be sampling the 'Best in the U.S.' jams, jellies and salsas from our Country Store. We'll also have a Halloween Costume Contest! Our judges will pick the most unique costumes for prizes.
1st Place: $150
2nd Place: $100
3rd Place: $75
Free coloring books for children under age 8.
Free sample with every paid admission of the most delicious Kettle Korn you've ever tasted!
Trick-or-Treat? We'll treat with free Halloween candy!

Every paying guest will receive a ticket for a hayride to the Pumpkin Patch to pick a free 'Sugar Pie' pumpkin. The 'Sugar Pie' variety is known to make the best pumpkin pies. Yum! Stick around after you pick your pumpkin and enjoy the other Orr Family Farm attractions as well!

Last year's contest was judged by Thomas G. Orr. There were 72 entries from all over the state. Winners and prize recipients were as follows:
